As part of the Inclusive Urban Infrastructure (IUI) project in Sarnia Estate in Badulla, based on information gathered through a community profile, focus group discussions, baseline survey, key informant and resident interviews, and a Photovoice workshop, together with field investigations, a proposal for a community intervention on water supply was prepared by the SEVANATHA Urban Resource Centre. The model community intervention targets improving the existing water supply in the Mahatenna division of the estate. The improved scheme would provide water to existing and new users in selected areas on a regular basis compared to the usual situation.
